The recently opened Agli Orti Bed and Breakfast gives you the ideal opportunity to live an exciting experience in the upper city of Bergamo, one of the best preserved historic walled towns in Italy. The location is the fascinating Via Borgo Canale with its charming small shops, Gaetano Donizetti’s house and little artistic churches. It is only a short walk to Piazza Vecchia, the 14th century fortress and the 15th century cathedral. Bergamo is a very special town: the famous French architect Le Corbusier defined it: “Adorable, absolutely sublime.”.

It is situated in a XVI century building.

Rooms

We have two no smoking rooms with private bathroom. Our guests are welcome in the comfortable sitting-room where hundreds of books, a grand piano, a fireplace, an original collection of old travel trunks and satellite tv will make you feel at home. The rich breakfast is served in the veranda or on the terrace, weather permitting. During the day you can help yourself to tea, herbal infusions or coffee.

Park/Garden

A sunny garden with a stunning view over the vast Po plain; an Italian style terrace under the vine.

How to get there

From Orio al Serio Airport, take bus no. 1 to Città Alta/Colle Aperto; from the railway station take bus no. 1/A to Città Alta/Colle Aperto; from the A4 morotway Milano- Venezia, turn off at the Bergamo exit, follow the signs to Città Alta, drive along the city walls to Piazzale Colle Aperto. Once there, take to the left through the ancient S. Alessandro’s gate and turn into the second street on your right (Via Borgo Canale). We are at no. 40, after 200 m on the left hand side.
