Location

The house is in the Valcalepio, a district renowned for its vineyards and its wine, at only a few kilometres from the centre of Bergamo and the international Orio al Serio airport. The nearby motorway provides ease of access to the house and to the attractions of Bergamo and its province, of Lombardy and Veneto. Lake Endine and Iseo and the Orobian Alps can be the setting for hikes, high or medium altitude treks or cycling tours. La Rossera golf club is adjoining the house and in the vicinity a riding club offers the opportunity to practise horse sports.

Building

The house lies on Cicola hill in the municipality of Carobbio degli Angeli and preserves the features of a farmhouse that draws its origin from a rural building of the XVII century conjuring up images of quiet and tranquillity in close contact with the countryside. The interior is like in the past; on one end the dirt driveway leads to the stables where horses used to be reared, while the other leg covered by hazelnut branches leads to the courtyard. The kitchen is equipped to cater to the needs of a true gourmet; its brick vaulted ceiling mixes cooking fumes and odours. The environing hills, the warbling birds, the grazing cattle and the rustling leaves enhance a state of meditation, well-being and serenity that our guest will hardly forget.

Rooms

On the first floor the bedroom doors open on the corridor. The guests’ rooms, all carefully furnished and with private bathroom, are three. They are very wide and can contain up to four beds.

Park/Garden

The house is in a hilly countryside and is surrounded by a 6 ha wide estate of both meadows and woods. It has a swimming pool and a lighted synthetic grass tennis court. The house is ideal for family holidays, to host company meetings, parties and events whenever a special congenial atmosphere is required. The serenity of the place bestows every event the exclusive privacy of times gone-by. It is also possible to hold civil marriage on the site.

How to get there

The house is easily accessibile:

from the A4 motorway Milan-Venice, turn off at Grumello del Monte and follow the signs to Chiuduno; after the town, leave the SP91 highway and take the road to the right (Via Don Paolo Caldara) until you cross Via Fratelli Kennedy, then turn right and immediately after that to the left as far as the end of Via Manzoni;
from the A4 motorway Milan-Venice, turn off at Seriate, follow signs to Lovere and take SS42 highway; at the roundabout take the direction of Sarnico on SP91 highway. At the second set of traffic lights turn left into Via Don Paolo Caldara until you cross Via Fratelli Kennedy, then turn right and immediately after that to the left as far as the end of Via Manzoni;
from Orio al Serio airport take the direction of Lovere on SS671 highway, then the direction of Sarnico driving along SP91 highway. At the second set of traffic lights turn left into Via Don Paolo Caldara until you cross Via Fratelli Kennedy, then turn right and immediately after that to the left as far as the end of Via Manzoni.

With your Gps navigator you should set latidude North 45° 39’ 35’’ e longitude East 9° 50’ 25’’.
